How can I go organic?

One of the easiest ways to promote organic is to buy organic. Of course, organically produced and certified food (including organic chicken feed) is more expensive. Ironically, the process of getting certified and maintaining the certification is one of the largest drivers of cost (rather than the organic methods). Basically, we’re paying more so that we can have more confidence that things that are labeled organic are actually organic. Spending a little extra money on organic products is one way to promote organic methods. At the same time, it is more expensive and not always practical to “buy” organic.

Going organic is an investment, but it is a good investment. It’s a matter of perspective. For better or worse, we have inherited this world from our ancestors. At Organic Chicken Feed, we encourage taking that thought process a step further in that we are also borrowing this world from our children as our ancestors borrowed it from us.

The world we give our grandchildren is in our hands and taking the time (or spending the money when possible) to go organic and find sustainable methods that promote long term living is our responsibility as good stewards of this planet.

Some basic ways to stay organic and go green:

  • Buy organic products
  • Buy recycled products
  • Employ organic gardening methods (like composting)
  • Recycling (from yard waste to aluminum cans)
  • Using renewable energy
  • Use alternative (to chemicals) pest control methods
  • Reduce your waste by smarter consumption (like not heating/cooling the house when you’re not home)
